Rosa Regàs was born in Barcelona, Spain in 1933. She is the author of six novels, including La canción de Dorotea (Dorotea’s Song), which won the 2001 Planeta Prize, and Música de Cámara (Chamber Music) (2013); four short story collections, including Viento armado (Armed Wind) (2006); and numerous non-fiction books and articles. Alongside her career as a writer, she also worked in publishing, first at the Seix Barral publishing house and later founding her own: La Gaya Ciencia (The Gay Science). She traveled the world as a UN translator and later served as director of the National Library of Spain. Her many contributions have been recognized with achievement awards from France and Barcelona. She currently resides in Gerona, Spain.

Viajó por todo el mundo como traductora de la ONU y más tarde fue directora de la Biblioteca Nacional de España. Sus numerosas contribuciones han sido reconocidas con premios a la trayectoria en Francia y Barcelona. Actualmente reside en Girona, España.
