Rhoda Holmes Nicholls, an American watercolor painter, born in Coventry, England. She studied in London and Rome, and in 1884, after her marriage to Burr H. Nicholls, she removed to the United States and settled in New York City.
Her Venetian water colors and her illustrations for Howell’s Venetian Life are representative of her brilliant and individual style. Four of her paintings are in the Boston Art Club and two in the Boston Museum.
Mrs. Nicholls’s work has received the tribute of various medals and awards at exhibitions in New York and elsewhere.
