Welsh artist and writer Nina Hamnett was renowned as the “Queen of Bohemia” in the early 20th-century artistic circles of Paris and London.
A flamboyant and pioneering figure, she was known for her unconventional lifestyle and painting work, exhibited widely during her lifetime. Hamnett’s autobiography, “Laughing Torso,” became a bestseller, further cementing her status as a significant figure in modernist art circles. She died in 1956.
