Moza bint Ahmad was the eldest daughter of Ahmad bin Said al-Busaidi, the first ruler of Oman of the Al Said dynasty. The princess was an important political figure during the reigns of her two nephews, Salim bin Sultan and Said bin Sultan, who ruled jointly after the 1804 death of their father, Moza’s brother Sultan bin Ahmed. Said was 13 at the time. Reportedly influenced by Moza, Salim voluntarily abdicated in 1806, with Said ruling alone until 1856. Moza acted as her nephews’ supporter and advisor. Moza married Sayyid Saif bin Ali, and their daughter Azza became Said’s first wife.
