May-Britt Moser, a prominent Norwegian neuroscientist, made significant contributions to the discovery of grid cells in the brain and their role in spatial navigation and cognitive processes like memory.
Her work, particularly in understanding spatial representation in the mammalian brain, led to her sharing the 2014 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with her husband, Edvard I. Moser, and John O’Keefe.
