Geeta Dutt (Geeta Ghosh Roy Chowdhuri) was a celebrated Indian playback singer who gained prominence for her exceptional contributions to Hindi and Bengali classical music. Born in Faridpur before the Partition of India, she relocated with her family to Calcutta and Assam. Geeta Dutt’s musical journey began in 1946 with her debut in the film “Bhakta Prahlad.”
From 1946 to 1972, Geeta Dutt sang in various languages, including Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, and more. Some of her notable renditions include “Mera Sundar Sapna Beet Gaya,” “Aaj Sajan Mohe Ang Lagalo,” and “Mujhe Jaan Nah Kaho Meri Jaan.”
