Françoise de Boissieu married her husband, Michel de Boissieu, early in the German occupation of France during World War II. Within the French resistance, the couple worked with the movement Combat, founded by Henri Frenay and Berty Albrecht. After the birth of their daughter Muriel, de Boissieu left the infant with her parents and returned to fight with the Resistance. In 2001, she received a Commandeur of the Légion d’Honneur.
