Fatima Jinnah was a prominent Pakistani politician and served as the Leader of the Opposition in Pakistan from 1960 until her passing in 1967. In 1923, she became the first female dentist in undivided India after earning her dental degree from the University of Calcutta. Fatima was a trusted adviser to her brother, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who later became the first Governor General of Pakistan. She co-founded the Pakistan Women’s Association after independence, significantly contributing to supporting and settling women migrants in the newly formed country.
She was a strong advocate for civil rights and is affectionately known as Madar-e-Millat (“Mother of the Nation”) and Khatun-e-Pakistan (“Lady of Pakistan”).
