Etta Hulme, one of the few female practitioners of the craft of editorial cartooning, earned her fine arts degree at the University of Texas at Austin and immediately headed for Disney Studios in California, where she worked in the animation division for two years before returning to Texas. She began her cartooning career in 1954 at Austin’s Texas Observer and has been with the Fort Worth Star-Telegram since 1972.
