Elizabeth Cazessús [González] es poeta y artista de performance. Autora de once libros de poesía. Es profesora egresada de la Escuela Normal Benito Juárez (1978-1982). Hizo estudios de Antropología Teatral con el maestro Jaime Soriano , discípulo de Jersy Grotowski, en la Ciudad de México y en un taller estatal en Baja California. Tomó cursos de literatura con los escritores María Luisa Puga, Antonio Alatorre, Daniel Sada. Realizó estudios de danza contemporánea con la bailarina brasileña Nadia Miranda.
Realizó periodismo cultural, de 1983 a 1992, en Tijuana. Ha participado en encuentros internacionales de poesía en países como Cuba, Chile, Puerto Rico, México, Colombia y Estados Unidos de América. Fue becaria del Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes fonca 1998. Obtuvo el Premio Municipal de Poesía, en los Juegos Florales de Tijuana, 1992; y el Premio de Poesía Anita Pompa de Trujillo, en Hermosillo, Sonora, 1994.
Actualmente coordina Tijuana Dossier Cultural, del periódico El Sol de Tijuana. Imparte talleres de literatura infantil para niños y maestros y realiza recitales poéticos con su propia obra.Su obra ha sido traducida al idioma inglés y al polaco. Es integrante del Colectivo Mañana Lloverá.
Elizabeth Cazessús [González] is a poet and performance artist. She is the author of eleven books of poetry. She is a teacher who graduated from the Benito Juárez Normal School (1978-1982). She studied Theatrical Anthropology with the teacher Jaime Soriano, a disciple of Jersy Grotowski, in Mexico City and in a state workshop in Baja California. She took literature courses with the writers María Luisa Puga, Antonio Alatorre, and Daniel Sada. She studied contemporary dance with the Brazilian dancer Nadia Miranda.
She worked as a cultural journalist from 1983 to 1992 in Tijuana. She has participated in international poetry events in countries such as Cuba, Chile, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Colombia and the United States of America. She was awarded a scholarship by the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (Fonca) in 1998. She won the Municipal Poetry Prize at the Floral Games in Tijuana in 1992 and the Anita Pompa de Trujillo Poetry Prize in Hermosillo, Sonora in 1994.
She currently coordinates Tijuana Dossier Cultural for the newspaper El Sol de Tijuana . She teaches children’s literature workshops for children and teachers and performs poetry recitals with her own work. Her work has been translated into English and Polish. She is a member of the Collective Mañana Lloverá.
