Angna Enters, born in Milwaukee in 1897, was a dancer and pantomime artist. She worked in New York City, and also toured extensively for many years with her dance theater productions which she conceived and produced until her retirement in the 1960s. The Enters Collection consists of artwork relating to Enters. The collection includes depictions of Enters’ dances, a watercolor sketch, a lithograph entitled “Promenade,” a gouache of Enters’ mime “Vienna Provincial,” clay statuettes, three etchings by John Sloan depicting dances by Enters, and two portraits of Enters by photographer Man Ray.
