Mexican poet Cynthia Aguayo has a degree in Hispanic Literature from the Autonomous University of Zacatecas/Autonomous University of Aguascalientes. Her work was featured in the poetry collection Desmembranzas (2010) and the Anthology of Postmodern Narrative (2018). She also published the chapter “Testimony and fictionalization in Insensatez by Horacio Castellanos Moya” in Power and Resistance in Latin American Literature (2019). Aguayo completed postgraduate studies at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile before going on to study for a master’s degree in Ibero-American Literature from Mexico’s Ibero-American University of Puebla.
