Gloria Stolk was born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1912. She is the author of several books of poetry, prose and essays, including Bela Vegas, Amargo el fondo, Cuentos del Caribe, La casa del viento and some her poems including Rescate y Cielo insistente. She was an autodidact and although she lacked a college education, she became a prominent journalist. She died in 1979 in Caracas, Venezuela.

Es autora de varios libros de poesía, prosa y ensayo, entre ellos Bela Vegas, Amargo el fondo, Cuentos del Caribe, La casa del viento y el libro de poesía Rescate y Cielo insistente. Stolk fue una mujer autodidacta, y aunque careció de estudios universitarios, se convirtió en una periodista de gran importancia en el país. Stolk murió en febrero 24 de 1979 en Caracas.
